I got an awaited and dreaded letter from the Colorado Toll collectors this week. It seems that we owe $1.30 for making a wrong turn onto and immediately back off of an unmanned toll road stemming from I-25 in Denver at the end of September.

Yes sir! We're sorry and it won't happen again...enclosed is our check in the amount of $1.30 as demanded. Er, uh....I thought the sign read $1.05 for this segment? Oh well, never mind, we're sorry to have put y'all to so much trouble and expense. We'll be more careful next time. :tiphat:

That was back in the days with no toll tags and you had to stop or an alarm with lights and bells would go off as you drove through. :biggrinjester:

Hahaha... i googled to find her and found a better one. Check this out! 179K in tolls and fines. http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/motoramic/t ... 35675.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I'm betting you'd be shocked to find out how much of that was actual tolls, and how much was fines and fees.

I own 13 toll tags. Sometimes the toll readers don't read properly. Before they started the program of mailing the toll bill they would charge a fine of 25 bucks per violation. I never had to pay them as I only needed to call them and once they saw we had tags they would wave the fines. In one day they had charged 200 dollars in fines for one truck...LOL.

I wouldn't be. I think my fine for a $1.25 toll was $200. Fortunately, I just forget to activate my tag and they waived the fine.
