Apparently bullied. Lived in subsidized housing with his immigrant parents possibly on welfare.

"Among the many questions facing the authorities on Saturday as Munich slowly returned to normal was how Mr. Sonboly had gotten a handgun and so much ammunition, despite Germany’s strict gun laws.

The serial number of the Glock had been scratched off, complicating the authorities’ ability to trace the firearm, said Robert Heimberger, the chief of the Bavarian State Criminal Police, at a late morning news conference. The teenager did not have a license to own a gun."

300 rounds in Germany is "so much ammunition".

How does a teenager, on welfare, subsidized housing etc.. get enough money to purchase an illegal gun on the black market? I can't imagine that it would be cheap. As in most investigations, follow the money.

Is that how much he had on him, or how much he had at home?

Seems to be a complete story other than how he had the money to by an illegal gun.

Near the end it talks about that authorities are reviewing German gun laws to see how they can make them even stricter.

Obviously they want to really make sure non criminals cannot have a gun. Once you start down the path of gun laws keep you safe you have to double down every time something like this happens.

Machete attack in Germany, one woman dead two others injured. Syrian refugee.

I'm sure the Germans are happy that their gun and immigration laws are keeping them safe.

If there is one thing that would have stopped the Ali-McMurderer, it is more laws... :banghead:
