https://www.foxbusiness.com/fbntv/neil- ... wealth-tax

California representative wants a .4% wealth tax on wealth excluding real estate (which is already taxed) on persons whose wealth exceeds $30 million.
So your base payment would be $120,000 a year for being wealthy. It would follow you for ten years if you left. $1,200,000 for the base guy who left the first year because he was fed up.

I guess your silicone valley types would be the first to get out of Dodge followed by I guess your Hollywood types.

Let's go one step further - if you move out of state it will be ten years before you become eligible to vote in that state. :biggrinjester:

Scott Peterson's death sentence in murder of pregnant wife overturned by California Supreme Court.

Well of course its California.

Anyone notice no other murderer has been found. Kinda like OJ's wife's murderer.

I'm no lawyer, and I didn't stay in a Holiday express last night... But how is it legal to continue taxing someone for 10 years after they move? How can you enforce taxation of non residents?

I don't have any heartache over the tax. Because it'll never apply to me. And those it will apply to have voted themselves into that situation. If they move, unfortunately many won't realize that and will vote the same way in their new home state.

Californians are in trouble for being vigilantes and trying to put out fires burning near their homes.

Sounds familiar doesn’t it.

When the government fails to protect you and you violate evacuation orders and take care of it yourself.

You have no training and you could get yourself hurt.

I saw this and was outrage. I've probably shared it on FB or another forum. Fortunately for the children in CA, it seems this is untrue. I found a link to the bill and could find no such language. Politifact also says it's not true.
There were a couple of passages saying it was:
(f) It shall be a defense to any prosecution under this section that a parent or guardian committed the act charged in aid of legitimate sex education.
(g) It shall be a defense in any prosecution under this section that the act charged was committed in aid of legitimate scientific or educational purposes.

Those still sound like a backdoor to Pedophilia to me.
