Hos is an acronym for HimOverSin ...as in God. Pronounced Hoss, like the guy from Gunsmoke (not to be confused with the "ladies of the night.")

What's the Origin of Your User Name?

I got my name from my Jeep. I bought her between my 2nd and 3rd tours in Iraq. Jeep calls her color Red Rock Crystal PeralCoat, so I named her RedRock. She is my first vehicle purchase in the state of Texas, I stuck the name on her and she started to run better. (in the early stages >5000 miles) she was having some electrical issues.

YellowTJ is also a Jeep thing. It's yellow and it's a TJ model, love that thing!

I used to be into drag racing, before the days of rev limiters. Back when, if it wasn't a 4 speed it wasn't a "real" drag car. I had a run of missed gears and broken axles and exploding driveshafts and needless to say, I bent a few rods (and crashed a couple cars) in the process. Frustrating, but one heck of a lot of fun. My first computer was a XT turbo, 10 meg processor, put it on turbo and it raced to 12 meg. Man, that was flying back then. My handle was Moses back then, but that's another story altogether.

Texas Drifter has been my CB handle for years. Based it off an Uncle of mine's who went by Arkansas Traveler. Since I was traveling back and forth between Texas and my duty station in Colorado it worked and has stuck with me ever since.

I just thought mine sounded cool. Jbird, when I hear that name it makes me think of the East Texas Jay Bird or the Blue Jay.

Okay, this is a strong indication of my lifelong affiliation with Nerd-dom.

During my first tour on Okinawa back in '79 a whole lot of jarheads and squids used to play Dungeons & Dragons at the Futenma Air Station base chapel annex.

Purplehood was my main D&D character name, for which I had my brief 15 minutes of fame amongst that august crowd.

Mine originated on the TexasBowhunter.com forum. I love bowhunting; it fits perfectly with the definition of 'assassin'.

assassin - one who kills by surprise attack

From there, I just try to keep the same name so I don't have to remember too many.
