My favorite "modern" Johnny Cash tune. I've always enjoyed the results when Artists step away from their genre and give us the opportunity to smile. Ringo singing "Act Naturally" ala Buck Owens, The Stones covering Waylon's "Bob Will's is still the King" at their Austin concert, Kid Rock's duet with Sheryl Crow:

The video with John Wayne, Dean Martin, Walter Brennan, Ward Bond and Rick Nelson is from the movie
Rio Bravo.
This song by Rick Nelson - "Welcome To My World" isn't in the film.

Thanks Wild Bill. I recently learned that Jim Stafford was in a band with Gram Parsons in high school.
Throughout his short life, Gram belonged to many musical groups. He played with Jim Stafford as a member of "The Legends" in Winter Haven, Florida where they were both raised.

I haven't thought of this song in years!
Rio Bravo and
El Dorado had the same themes and they are two of my top ten favorite movies.

Always liked that one, but my favorite of his is the hauntingly beautiful "Yesterday When I Was Young"

Have watched both of those within the last couple of months. Each time I watch Rio Bravo, I find myself whistling the "My Rifle, Pony and Me" melody randomly for a week or so afterwards..lol
