POLITICS: The only "sport" where the team that is down by 80 can run out the clock for the win.

I think that was Kuempel, not Straus.
Yes, the earlier "chair".

Senate should have done the attach it as a amendment maneuver. I had a feeling this "deal" was hot...
Half of me wants this PoO to succeed and just put the bill out of its misery...

Pockets run deep.
Yes sir they do.

From Rep. Dutton's earlier Parliamentary Inquiries, he has one more POO he is waiting to present "at the appropriate time" regarding the 36 hour rule and the moving of the SB11 from one calendar to another calendar. I think its safe to say between amendments and POO, there will be no vote before midnight.

I believe this POO is the nail in the coffin.
The Dems are going to win - for the children!
Any chance of a special session?

Another Point of Order or two and the session is over, it is less painful passing a kidney stone than watching our elected officials all play their legislative games.....

Strauss promised a "vote" didn't he? not just to bring it to the floor?

What a waste of time. The vote is on the bill, not the analysis.

This thread started at 8:53am this morning. I've watched the ENTIRE session, save for 2 hours. yWith 43 minutes remaining, this bill is as good as dead, I'm sorry to say.
I'm tired, disappointed, disgusted, and sick to my stomach. I had such high hopes for this bill passing, noting the past pledges and statements from the House & Senate leaders, and beyond. All not to be. This is a bitter pill to swallow.
SewTexas, I wish you success. And with that, good night, God Bless you all, and God Bless Texas.
