"The Guff of Mexico"

What is it with these people and their inability to verbalize the letter "L"?

I honestly don't believe it has anything to do with I.Q., but man oh man it sounds like it...
Agreed!!!

One that my mother finds particularly annoying/funny is "acrost".

I need hep swimming acrost the Guff of Mexico.

"Borrower"

i have to use this word at least 10+ times daily, and i get lazy saying the full pronunciation. most times i end up saying something that sounds like "bar-rur"

You must work in mortgage! I'm with you on that, I've resorted to saying B1 and B2.

"I'll reach out to <him/her/them>"
Last time I checked, nobody's arms were long enough to reach the distance in any scenario in which I've heard this phrase used.

How about just saying you'll contact them? What's wrong with that?

I hate whenever anyone in the administration uses the phrase "fact pattern". The automatic inference is that they can 1) see a pattern in an array of facts, 2) draw some sort of bromide from the pattern, and 3) engineer society to eliminate the pattern. The administration's flack-catchers most assuredly deserve to be "mau-maued" (REFERENCE).

It's a girl thing, you wouldn't understand.

It's a guy thing, you wouldn't understand.

The bore who utters such a patronizing circumlocution is to be pitied or laughed at...

I suggest laughing first and, after that dies down, end with the pity.

when people use the word "loose" when they really mean "lose"....

if your belt is loose, you might lose your pants.
