Shopping at Academy just as they were unloading the truck. They had a case of Remington (9mm) 250 round boxes - limit was one. I was able to talk the counter guy into giving me two boxes. I walked out with 500 rounds of 9mm and a brick of Remington .22 lr (525)...it was a good day!

It was the Academy on IH35 in Selma. They told me that they stock their inventory from the truck (the night before) - every Monday, Wednesday and Friday around 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. I was there at the right time...

Made a ammo run earlier today about noon. Went to the Cedar Park Academy they were out of most pistol ammo, had plenty of AK/AR ammo. They actually had some at the beginning of the day, it just gets wiped out before noon or within the first hour of store opening. I found some .22lr at walmart(Cedar Park) $3.17/50 Rem subsonic X4. McBrides(Austin)had 1 brick of 22lr Blazer for $24/500 another ouch!! I bought it anyway.

This ammo thing is crazy but it in some calibers it is coming around full circle. .223 you can find easy now, 7.62 everywhere.
Matter of time before .40/.45/9mm/.380 start becoming available. Maybe longer for the .380 it is seems to be the hot caliber of the day lately. No guesses on rimfire ammo.

I find it downright scary how misinformed people are concerning guns and ammo restrictions. I am hearing a level of ignorance being spouted by people working ammo counters that just boggles the imagination. The most popular is the story of how we are already facing a 500% tax on ammunition. Now this story is being told by academy and Wally World morons alike, as if it is some kind of truth. No wonder people flip out and buy up every box of ammo they see. I jumped all in at academy the other day when I overheard him telling an obvious nooby to guns this tale. i told him right in front of his customer that ignorant statements like that are what is creating this ammo shortage. Then I shut up before I got belligerent.

Beaumont WalMart is enforcing the "max 6 box" rule now.

Of course, they don't have 6 boxes of anything, but they'd enforce it if they did.

And your wife would be allowed to snag another 6 boxes besides yours, so...

The Academy on I45 at Edgebrook has lots if UMC 9mm 250rds for $57, limit one, and lots of Monarch 9mm, limit 5, and lots of Remington 22lr 525 rd, I bought 2 so I don't think there's a limit.
