It took 94 days to go from the verification of application received to "processing application" ... you probably have another 3-4 weeks in the not processing yet boat.

Got the expected call from DPS today, asking for DL# so they can start looking. Supposedly my prints were sent off and they're just awaiting the background to complete. The guy gave me the impression that it shouldn't be much longer, assuming everything comes back clean. So from letter in the mail to call from DPS in 3 business days. I'm impressed. Although I'm still not happy about it taking so long.

I just spoke to DPS one thing I can say is from the time I dialed the phone to receiving inormation I asked was less tha 4 minutes looks like they are responding better. Maybe have more help. The bad news is they say they are just now starting April Apps. and can be as much as 2 to 3 months before getting anything back. I hope this is what they are just being said to say. If that is the case it will put me at the 180 mark plus or minus a few days.The one applicant that received his plastic that applied in April was sent thru ppretty fast, but I am glad it did. I understand he had a perfect background and scuffs with the law. I am sure there is alot of us that have the same background. This just continues to show the breakdown of the App.process. Again glad the app. went thru quick and wish the best of luck to everyone.

ericsu19 did you send your overnight and it took 9 days??? HOLY MOLY thats a long time, YOU could've delivered it sooner. Thats the good ol' Postal Service for you, huh....

Wow - if they are just starting April apps and expect it to take an additional 2 to 3 months that would be a total of 5 to 6 months for a process that is required to be completed in 60 days. I have seen a few people that applied around the same time I did (4-7-08) start to get their plastic, so hopefully that additional 3 months is a gross exaggeration. I am a little excited that there are active licenses being delivered from a date similar to mine.

I did send over night it took them around 7 days to get it to the process mode. I have seen April apps stating to get there plastic is wy I called I was shocked when they told me 3 to 4 months. I hope it is just what they are being told what to say.

DPS shows they entered my application on 4/4 so I guess that makes me an April applicant. I emailed them at 60 days & again on 7/1 . I received the following reply.

"At this time we are awaiting the completion of the background
investigation. We do not have a timeframe for when your license will be
approved. Thank you for your continued patience.

Sounds like a big part of the delay is in the field.

Check cleared my bank on 5/1/08
As of 7/4/08 Nothing yet - no Pin, no word, nothing.

Called DPS yesterday to see what was going on. Still "not in the system" after well over 60 days. Person who answered the phone at DPS said that he had been down entering applications from March last week, and that April was still probably a few weeks away.

I know applications are on the rise - but this is pitiful service. If the guy on the phone was correct, it'll like be August before I get my plastic. Check cleared May 1st. Sorry, but that is just garbage.

Looks like the same reply I am getting what makes no sence is if they are finnishing May apps. how are people with April Apps. Allready receiving plastic. Not very concestant.

They received your packet 6 days before mine and I still haven't received a PIN.
