Well, here I am, lurking and reading and figured it was time to post. Who knows maybe I'll even get my PIN within the next week or two.
Another woman in our office who took the course from the same instructor I did (about two weeks before me), just got the letter about needing to re-do her fingerprints. Bummer! I can only hope and pray that doesn't mean it's likely mine were unsatisfactory as well. She plans on getting hers re-done at a FAST office in hopes of not having them rejected a second time.
It's going to be a long wait and, meanwhile, I keep thinking about the CHL holders who are having to renew and facing this same bureaucratic-delay nightmare. I wish there were an activist organization working to push the PTB to fix this problem for Texas CHL holders and the rest of us wannebes. Is there one? How about TSRA or .....? I pay dues to these folks and a couple of others. Are any of them on this?
I've heard of "slow as Christmas" and now I'm thinking Christmas 2009 and my plastic are running neck and neck.

Now, I feel like I'm officially in line. PIN letter arrived in the mail today! Now, if only the fingerprints pass muster ...

its a good feeling to finally get that PIN , now you've got the loooong stretch ahead .
try to get through it by not dwelling too much about it.
easier said than done

Thanks for the reply! The situation bears an amazing kinship to telling oneself that the mosquito bite doesn't actually itch, so don't scratch it.
I think I will set myself some obtainable limits for my definition of "not dwelling too much" ... like don't check on the status more than 3X daily.
Somebody pass me some Benadryl cream.

....but that has'nt stopped me from checking
at least 3 times a day
as a matter of fact , im going over to check right now.

No joy yet, huh, USA1? I've just discovered it's easier to wonder about whether your plastic has shown up or your status has changed than to wonder about my own.

(My own being so far in the future as to make wondering about approval a moot point.

)
Happy 4th of July, everybody!

good to see that you are already expecting to wait that long...makes things easier on you..
.....and if it only takes 3 months , you will be pleasantly surprised

I have been monitoring some of the April submissions reports and it seems that a few of them are getting their Licenses now.
I also think that a lot of people aren't updating their status once they get their licenses because they aren't looking any more.
There's hope, but it looks like it is taking 4-6 months depending on what county you reside in.
