Saudi Arabia - They road race and have drifting competitions on the street, mixed in

I don't think they see too well at night either... The bright sun seems to have burned out their night vision.

It was similar where I was in Egypt (cairo). They didn't drive with their lights on at night, but that was due to the streetlamps illuminating the streets sufficiently. Their horn switch was keyed into where our wiper handle is in most cars. so you could keep two hands on the wheel and rapid fire honk with authority. I always considered it a type of sonar. you let other drivers know where you were and how close, and the horns weren't really that loud. FiberGlass cars didn't seem to last long, there.
still cracks me up just thinking about it.

Amen.

Pretty much everyone here will bring it back to center. In chosing to carry a weapon legally we have all learned and accepted when we are able to use it without ending up in the pokey ourselves. Because of this we have to put up with an enormous amount of stuff so that a situation doesn't get out of hand. I have great respect for LEO's that have mastered this. Many of them are remarkable in this ability. The key is recognizing it before it gets out of hand and resolving yourself to remain in control of your own emotions.

What's that word, oh yeah, de-escalation?

A great bunch of people here. I'm thankful to have found them.

Then stuff a potato up their tailpipe(s), being sure to poke them in real tight and deep (a cut off broomstick works well). Then, when they come out to get in their car to leave, rather than being angry, you will not be able to keep from smiling. Works every time.
And here all this time I thought a banana :anamatedbanana was the right choice! :biggrinjester:
The bananna up the tailpipe is a hollywood legend from Beverly Hills Cop. A potato works much better. Trying to stuff a banana in the tailpipe causes the peel to separate and you end up with less of a tight plug seal than with a potato. Jabbing the potato with a push stick causes it to conform to the tailpipe and retains its rigidity longer. A spongy rubber ball also works but is almost permanent. The potato will shrivel in less than a day and will eventually blow out. A spongy rubber ball would be really mean. But spongy rubber balls would keep better in the trunk over an extended period of time. :evil2:
But even better than those is a glob of raw, slightly stale, yeasty pizza dough.....

(Standard disclaimers.... heard it from someone who worked with someone who did it, yada yada)

Oldgringo, you are exactly right. I used to be one of those people who got upset when someone cut me off, tailgated me or flipped me off because I could not go fast enough for them but all of that changed when I got my CHL. When I started carrying, I had to make a decision not to chase people down to discuss their actions or hand gestures. It took me a while but now even though I still think they are idiots, I just take a breath and let them go with no response from me at all. I do not ever want to be put in a position to have to use my weapon for something that could have been avoided with just a little self control. Road rage can get out of control very quickly, someone cuts you off, you gesture, both pull over to discuss it, he pulls a tire iron, you shoot him and you both go to jail or worse. There is a lot of responsibility that comes with carrying a weapon and I had to make some big changes.

:iagree: And you know what? I feel a lot better when I get to my destination now. No more arriving all stressed out because I've lost my temper at some idiot on the road. Take a deep breath, notice how beautiful the clouds are against the sky and let it roll off like water off a duck's back.

I always remember at times like these what my sainted pappy used to say, "Never attribute mallice when stupidity will explain the facts."
