Suggestion:

Encourage everyone to wear a name tag with their Forum screen name so we can associate a name and a face.

With their real name on the tag somewhere.

Edit: Maybe not... I don't wear a flat top any more.

I was thinking of bringing name tags for that purpose. It isn't a mandate for coming, but it would be nice for those who would like to participate to be able to put names with faces.

One common-sense ground rule for meeting in person which I will plainly state for the benefit of those like me who would want the assurance before doing so: if you meet someone in person, don't share online what is shared in person. Things like occupation, name, pictures, or other details about a person's life would not be appropriate to share over the internet without his or her express permission. You can get it there or with a PM after returning or you can leave the personal details out and just talk about the fun stuff.

Comments like "You should have it out here by BobD and me next time." could say a lot if you disclose your city but BobD doesn't. Or, "Your wife YerMatte was a really great shooter, JohnS. I've been teasing her at work all morning about shooting like a girl!" gives quite a lot of info that they might not have wanted to share. Instead, "You should have it out here by me next time. I know there are other shooters in the area who would be interested." Then BobD may choose to speak up for himself, privately or publicly. And a private message to JohnS for the latter would be best. :fire

I hope that sets people's minds at ease about meeting in person. We should all be able to relax and enjoy.

OK, so date, place, time, nametags... the only thing left is food. Is there no interest in having socializing time or just don't care where or something else?

Good reminders, Hoi.

I'm up for lunch afterwards.

What shall we do for food? (Food is important to me. Particularly the sweet kind. :anamatedbanana ) Genghis Grill has one nod so far. Any other commentary?

If Mexican is what you want,,there is Mercado Juarez right there on NW HWY. Pretty good place with lots of room and Great Salsa!!

I'm gonna try to make it.

For shooting, I have ;
Kimber Crimson Carry (3") .45
Kimber Tactical Pro (4") .45
Kimber Custom Classic (5' Clack) .45
S&W 629 (8") .44M
Ruger Security Six (6") .357M
Ruger LCP .380
Glock 21SF .45 ACP

Bring the Ammo and try 'em out! :fire

I usually get off work around 2am Friday nights, so I probably won't make the 9am start time. I might show up late, or for the food afterwards though.

(FWIW, I voted "maybe".)

Great! You'll be welcome for either/both!

Ten years in the Navy and no tattoo........just never appealed to me........I just figured that the tattoos would age as not-so-gracefully as the rest of me.....

I do not want to know! :biggrinjester:

Incidentally, the inaugural Cowtown Celtic Festival is the 2nd and 3rd, so I may not be wearing pants.

I may come in my kilt and just drop my guns at the house on the way to Will Rogers
