Since the "anti" people play so much "what if"
Not saying this is a goal, but something to consider
What if, a campus adopted "rules" that allowed ONLY allow responsible adult staff and Faculty who got photographed, fingerprinted, went through Local, State, and Federal background checks, took the time and paid the expense to go through training to be armed, and took, in Bob Strawser, speaker of the Faculty Senate's words, training in "how to react" ... since over 50% of the time Faculty/Staff/fellow students are first responders.
Then
what if the teacher had a couple BUGs, and passed them out during a time of "Necessity" to students he knew were CHLs
(A person in authority, acting on behalf of the school authorized it during an emergency situation)
just playing what if.
however, I sure pray that bill passes so the elite guys in campus towers who collect money from us come to a realization like Obama felt from mid-term elections, that they in fact, like a King, could be figuratively beheaded/voted out/fired if they keep it up..

Sort of glad that there are No replies nor comments to my last post there
Though I don't know whether to attribute that to:
1) people stopped reading
or
2) people started thinking
I hope the latter.
And I'm hoping no one else comments ...(especially like the idiots "round them up and let them shoot each other")

gandalf kind of accidentally lent credibility to me in his post referencing the books I recommended. http://www.dailywritingtips.com/loan-lend-loaned-lent/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Well, since you asked, I think you would need to factor in a number of variables to answer this question:RPB wrote:If anyone can figure out how to calculate the probability of someone reaching into my pants in a classroom, seriously let me know. .... I'd like to know ... not joking, but interested because to compare the car-break-in data, I'd need that to compare too for the equation.
Your sex (male of female)
The interest level of others in the room for whatever you have in your pants
The familiarity / comfort level you have with the other people in the room
The number and physical density of the people in the room
Not enough info available to answer definitively
Of course, another approach (assuming you are primarily concerned with people that would reach into your pants to steal something) would be to look at the number of car break-in reports as a percentage of all cars parked on the A&M campus in a given day, and then compare that to the number of pick-pocket reports as a percentage of the number of people physically on the A&M campus in a given day.

I'm betting college students have zero interest I'm older than 55 and have a grey beard and removable teeth
The familiarity / comfort level you have with the other people in the room
Not much
The number and physical density of the people in the room
Unknown variable (I hate Algebra)

Excellent point; I don't recall seeing ANY pickpocket reports on the Clery campus crime reports !!!!!!!!!!
