How about we have all goobermints publish the background checks on all goobermint folks - those who draw goobermint paychecks.

Nah. Wouldn't work they do the checks.

Excuse me, Stupid, but your idea is objectionable to say the least.

I would say you need to provide a solution that a) prevent bad guys from getting ammo and b) not impede your right.

Merely saying No doesn't really help, does it?

However, "No" does answer the question posed.

no.

The background check for firearms doesn't stop bad guys from getting guns. It only prevents them from buying from law abiding dealers and then only if they get denied by the system and not all bad guys have a record. Sure idiots with records have tried to pass a background check, but I'm not aware that arrests ever get made in those cases. (And by idiots, I mean the career criminals with long felony records).

Somehow I suspect the average bad guy gets his ammo the same place he gets his illegal guns - out on the street.

Canada implemented a system where you had to have a license to buy ammo and they recorded your name and license number for every purchase - I expect bad guys can still get ammo there.

No amount of regulations, hurdles, red-tape, checks, laws, surveillance or other system of 'control' is going to prevent people from getting firearms, ammunition, drugs, alcohol, etc. Nothing will change until society is able/wiling to solve the underlying social and economic problems that lead them to crime and drug/alcohol abuse. We live in a 'quick fix, instant gratification' society where few want to do the 'real' work for 'real' solutions and that includes research.

rant off... :-)

I think merely answering no is not enough. What's the rationale behind your "no"?
Go back and read my first reply to your question. It will be an expensive burden on law abiding gun owners that will do nothing to stop criminals.
What's the main source for bad guys to get ammo? Stores, right?
What is your rationale behind this statement?
Are you suggesting that people who rob other people obtain the tools of their trade by some other means?
If your answer is no, then what do you propose to cut off the source of ammo for bad guys?
People who are willing to break the law will never be stopped by another law. Please see the dictionary definition of a criminal (noun).
You might as well ask how to stop the rain - you can't. So instead you build shelter or carry an umbrella.

Stupid - If you think that one more law is going to stop a single criminal then you live in a fantasy-land.
Here in the real world we have recognized that criminals still get guns in spite of hundreds of thousands of laws trying to prevent that.
In reality, the 4473 form did not stop a single convicted felon from obtaining firearms.
The instant check hasn't stopped or delayed any criminal intent on using weapons.
These are just "feel-good" laws passed by politicians to make the people feel like they are doing something.
They don't work - and that's the reason to stop making more of them.

Again, I would like for you to cite any kind of evidence whatsoever that "bad guys" buy their ammo at the stores, and don't steal it like they steal guns.

Why should I come up with an argument against something that I don't even know is a valid problem?

We could discuss what to do about the sky turning purple too, but unless the sky is purple, its a bit of a silly discussion, don't ya think?

'No' check for GG's to purchase ammunition.

The BG's will get their weapons/ammunition from any source available.

Only good things will happen as the number of GG's (who have weapons/ammunition/training) outweighs the number of BG's........ :fire
