My reference to "Death Wish" wasn't aimed at you or anyone else in particular. It wasn't even about a real death wishes in general but to the Charles Bronson movie and sequals. where the Bronson was playing a vigilante type, more than willing to take matters into his own own hand. Although I saw a few parrallels on some responces in this thread. I don't really think that anyone here are Bronson's charactor.

It's stupid, but have to ask. When the punk pulls a knife and the security guard is within arms length (<21 feet), shouldn't this already justify a shooting? Even in the back of the teen?

Remember deadly force can be used when you are in fear of grave bodyly harm and life. Same rule applies to pretect others from grave bodly harm/loss of life.

Imagine what the media is going to say:"Shopping Mall: CHL shot and killed teen in the back!!!"

wuups, they forgot to type in "knife wielding"

There are three types of Justifaction:

Moral
Practical
Legal

Being legally justified often doesn't have much to do with the other 2.
