I have been reading this thead for a couple of days now and been heartened by the thoughtful responses. I have a couple of thoughts and a question for the OP, none of which are to cast any aspersions on anyone. First since the OP took the effort to obtain a CHL they must have heard the "concealed is concealed" mantra more then once. Second, this is America and the beautiful thing about that is you have the right to choose the course that you feel is best for you and all you hold dear. I applaud your exercising that right. Now the question, what were you seeking in making this post? If point one holds, no one should ever know if you carry or not. The presumption that membership on this board suggests that you do carry doesn't mean that you have to. It is your personal choice and nothing that I or anyone else suggests can remove the resposibility for that choice from you. Were you seeking validation for the decison? If so I missed that in your post and I apologize. Are you asking for rationale to change your mind? I hope that the views expressed in the responses have given you the information to review your decison.
Whether you change you mind or not isn't my call, or even my wish. I do hope at the end of this you are comfortable with your decision and I support your right to make one that works for you.

I wouldn't worry too much if I were you. Texas is a free state. I thought a couple of years ago the law was changed to state that if you used your weapon in self defense you are now protected from civil liability.
