My issue is that both parties want to infringe on my freedom. It is just different freedoms they are each wanting to take away. The lessor of two evils for me is to vote anybody but Odumbell.

That's a pretty good summary.

I am a legal resident alien. I can not vote. Even if I could, my vote would not sway the outcome in the biggest (alaska doesn't count  ) state in the USA. I am already eligible to become a citizen. The reason I am not doing it is because the direction we are headed in. A little background...

I am originally from the Netherlands. A socialist country.

I have found differences in the healthcare here and in the Netherlands. The main thing is that over here they don't fool around when they find something. Over there my dad had to wait to see if his herniated back got any better. Really? They finally did something about it because it was affecting the quality of life. The cost of insurance was about half what I pay here. But the coverage was the same.

The Netherlands has the same problem with the social security we have. Raising the age because it is becoming impossible to pay out. Ponzi scheme, just like it is over here. If I where to be allowed to keep my social security contributions I could put it away in my own accounts and get a good retirement. And if I end up dying prematurely, all that money would be in my wifes / childs hands, not the hands of the government who then rubs their hands together because they won't have to pay out my portion. I will be taking it as early as possible. I will be able to do things I wouldn't be at 67. I'd gladly take the pay-cut. Something you might not even feel until age 75. And by then my life could well be over.

Not to mention the Netherlands has (or had) a base tax rate of 33%, going up from there. Taxes (get this) money that is sitting in your savings account above a certain amount. Which is around 21000 euros I believe. Money that has been taxed already when you made it. That is what is in store for us when Obama gets re-elected. They say you are supposed to support your president. I find that hard if the president is hard on becoming the worst one in history. I hope America makes the right choice. I hope they vote him out of office, and get someone in that knows what needs to be done. Starting with Obamacare.

Certain aspects I like about obamacare. The part of not being denied coverage with pre-existing conditions. We can't all be healthy, and the insurance companies make oodles of money to begin with. This comes from (as far as I know) a healthy person. Obamacare as it sits now would only have worked if there was a Public Option. Which is not there because of extensive lobbying (and undoubtedly millions of dollars in pledges) by the private insurance companies. Thus it needs to be undone. Not to mention the violation of constitutional rights by mandating insurance for every person. Unless you are in the low class of income. Really? That is the reason why "no one" has insurance now. And with the premium-hikes under the umbrella "cover all pre-existing condition people in 2014" it has become even less affordable. Backfire... burn...

Obama out -> GOP in = 1 more citizen. (and yes, that rhymed, and it was unintentional).

I mean, if that were to happen, this country would be forever ruined, perhaps beyond repair.
I've started to think it might not be as bad as expected. It could be like Clinton's second term -- where he was re-elected, but did not control the House and didn't have 2/3 Senate control. It was basically stalemate -- which turned out okay ... because doing "nothing" is often best when the government's the one doing it.

It could turn into a disaster, though, if Obama gets to appoint another Supreme and enough Republican Senators cave in and vote for approval. That would be the end of life as we know it -- a liberal controlled court would flush the Constitution away.

The difference is that Clinton was bound by the Constitution and the Legislature. Obama, apparently, is not bound by either.

Yep. I'm also concerned about what would happen at the "Justice" Dept and TSA. Eric Holder is both corrupt and incompetent. Imagine if Obama could find someone who was actually good at it. And I'm sure the TSA would get worse, too (come to think of it, I'm worried about that regardless of who wins).

The other difference is that Clinton was a politician FIRST and FOREMOST. When the Republicans took over in '94, he tacked his political sailboat back to a more moderate stance on most things, and was able to win reelection and coast by appearing to be more of a moderate.

Obama is a Marxist revolutionary first and foremost. He will never change his views, his stance, his actions. Clinton would have moderated himself after the big swing to the right in 2010. Obama just pushed HARDER to the left.

Worst case - if he gets a 2nd, we could lose ours.

As others have mentioned, consider Supreme court nominees, but also executive orders, DOJ programs & BATFE rules, homeland security threat assessments (big sis may take a closer look at citizens that 'cling to guns, religion' and/or the Constitution). If he wants to do something, he'll use every tool he has and likely grant himself a bigger toolbox along the way.

He'll have the media to help vilify any opposition (including congress or 'activist' courts, as well as any "extremist" citizens that cite Constitutional principles). We've already seen how negative and dishonest his campaign will be - a 2nd term would allow him to "rule" us simple people the way we need to be ruled. Vladimir (current & former) would approve..
