You'll make it! You'll make it! Believe me, you'll have good days and bad days. Just hang tough on the bad ones. Keep it up, the rewards outweigh the risks by far !

All good advice, but it just comes down to you. You can not substitute one habit for another. Best advice I have ever seen is be willing to be done with for YOU. No one else. It is you with the addiction, you have got to be totally honest with yourself to give it up. Doing it for others is not going to work. Doing with help and short cuts means your not in it for you. IF you for you truly wish to give it up, then do. You might have other motivations about how you want to be around when kids grown, wife does not like it and etc. But this is all about you. Cold turkey and walk away. Because it is what YOU want. Not going to work any other way talking for personal experience. You do it for someone else you end up resenting them for you not getting a fix. I been there. From age 13 with snuff and chewing Tabaco to smoking starting at age 26. Age 44 I said heck with it despite trying to quit while married with all kinds of help. Was divorced and was finally on my own and said the hell with it. Not easy, it will be hard. But do it for yourself, you can do it.

Hooah! Good for you! Has it been easier or harder than you thought it would be?
Either way, DO NOT GET COMPLACENT! Hang in there, hang tough!

First 3 days was real hard. Day 5 was pure h ell. After that the cravings were less and less. If Make it 100 days I'm going to but the glock 30 I want.

We use Skype for interoffice communications. I have a friend that updates her Skype status daily to reflect the number of days and money saved for quitting smoking. She's up to well over a thousand dollars. It's good, positive reinforcement. If you have something similar (a public forum like this board) keep it updated to let us know your progress.

Today is 2 weeks without snuff. Still have small cravings after meals and a few out of the blue here and there but nothing I can't handle.

Heck, after this much agony, you might as well splurge and get an M&P.
Keep it up!
Step 1: Decide to quit tobacco
Step 2: Quit tobacco
That's the only way to do it. Some people insist that step 1.5 belongs in there: quit buying tobacco.
You can do it! We're rooting for you. May the desire continue to decrease daily. I believe you're past the hardest part. Just keep keeping it simple.
