I wouldn't expect many cheap mags Giga, roughly 360 mags (assuming 3 per gun). Sad thing is I was planning on picking up a a cheap .357 Sig, but those plans are not exactly DOA just yet just temporarily on hold. The funny thing is my preferred non-1911 carry gun is a police trade in Sig P226 (Was not traded back to Sig so no red box) after a set of Nil Grips from Sig Sauer and the Sig Service Plan has given me one heck of a nice gun.
How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

Speaking of sight movement . . .

I was at the range yesterday for the first time in a few months. My new Shield 9's sight must've shifted. :\ I had a nice 3 shot 1"-1.5" group at 15' . . . about 8 inches away from bullseye at 2 o'clock. Handed it to my buddy . . . who is a significantly better shot than I am . . . was hitting high & right. This sucks because this is my daily carry for the size/weight. :\

Not exactly sure how came to move. It's either pocket carried or IWB in an AlienGear holster (which has ample room for a sight). Nothing else goes in my pocket when pocket carried in a pocket holster.

Shields have a set screw on top that holds the sight in place. It may have become loose. If so, the sight would move from recoil during shooting.

You can rough reset the sight by loosening the set screw and drifting it from side to side until there are equal amounts of slide showing on each side of the sight. Then remove the set screw, apply red LocTite thread locker, and reinstall and tighten the set screw.

I'll check that screw & distances. Thanks!

Thanks for the heads-up. Mrs SDT's has a laser, so I didn't even see the set screw.

A couple of handguns experienced sight movement of less than 10 microns after repeated firing of about 3,000 rounds. (A micron equals one-millionth of a meter.)

There were also feeding and ejection issues that have not been replicated in additional testing, which involved firing up to 5,000 rounds.
10 microns?

10 micron = 0.000 393 700 787 4 inch

That's about 4/10,000ths of an inch.

They must be using micrometers on the sights to have picked this up.
One micron is less than 10 microns. So is 0.01 microns. Is less better than more? :headscratch

That would depend on whether smaller is good or bad.

I'm glad they're going back to Sigs. I'm especially glad they're sticking with the .357 Sig and not the 9mm. Where those boys go, and what they do, they need something with a little more "oomph."
