I'm sorry if I missed it, but I haven't seen any report the school was evacuated.
To me, this alone tells me it's bull.
More to the point, every report I've seen said the teacher kept the device at her desk and conferred with the principal "later in the day." IOW, if it had been a bomb with any more power than a firecracker, none of the actions of the teacher, principal or police would have protected any of the students.
Yep! These two quotes sum it up completely and perfectly for me. Not a single person there was scared of any physical device. They were scared of a kid. Handcuffs but no bomb squad or evacuation? I'm not buying it. Lame from start to finish.

This was a job for the Geek Squad, if at all, not the bomb squad.

Instead, it was handled by the "Ministry of Silly Walks."

The more I look at this, I am starting to think this was a publicity stunt by the kid's parents. Schools are all about panicky over reaction. A 7 year old kid who points his finger and says "bang" will get suspended and charged with making terroristic threats, so that's the environment. It is ironic that the same leftist teachers who drone on about "peaceful Islam" will soil themselves if a kid named Mohamed brings a bunch of circuit boards and ribbon wire to school.
I wouldn't be surprised if little Ahmed's parents are activists and put him up to this so that they could feign indignation and scream racism when the school does what schools do and over reacts. If he had walked in with nail clippers with a 1" blade on them, he would have received the same treatment but no media attention.
On the off chance that this kid is for real, he needs to team up with another little nerd who is interested in design engineering to help make his clock look more like a clock.

Any time I see the organization "CAIR" (Council on American/Islamic Relations) involved, I immediately look for the publicity stunt angle. For anyone who is not aware of CAIR, here
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/01 ... ng-trial/# is why I immediately become suspicious. There is a lot more out there, and yes that article is old, but still accurate to this day, I believe.

I don't see this as Islamophobia in "backwards" Texas, but instead another case of runaway Zero Tolerance in schools across the US.
But it does hit a triple sweet spot for Liberals in that it happened to someone who was Black and Muslim in the state they despise most, thus the selective outrage from the President and others.

You sure he's not African-American?

The Kid has at least one parent from Sudan. I guess only the father is a Sudanese. The mom is most likely an American White woman. However I am not 100% sure about his mom.

Supposedly this is a photo of a suitcase bomb
http://www.trunews.com/wp-content/uploa ... itcase.jpg
this is being used to defend the teachers, principal and police.
If I was there, I would really be more concerned about the 110v plug. With how crudely this clock is put together I could see someone getting electrocuted. That is the real danger here.

True. I think his father is black, from what I saw on TV. There are numerous black and non-black Sudanese. This whole racial characterization thing is over the top. Who cares? It's just more idiotic zero-tolerance baloney. I guess he's Bi-Racial like President Obama.
If that's not black enough...? well, I think I'll vote for Ben Carson

.

Yep. But ya know, racism.
