Dick's has a coupon in the paper today (Denton Record-Chronicle) with a buy one get 50% off the second for all ammo. It is only good Friday from 5:30 AM to 2 PM.

Good for 6 boxes.

In Texas, they only have stores in the DFW area.

Not really ammo "on sale" but here's what I found at gun show in Bossier City today.

.223 FMJ $31.95/100
.223 softnose $34.95/100
M855 (green tip) $41.95/100

Prices went down some, but not much, with larger quantities and supplies were abundant.

Whatever you do, DO NOT order from National Bullet CO!!!

i think just in CS, i've been to a few academys here in houston and the cheapest (reliable) ammo they have is green box monarch for 6.99/box

I've bought from them before (about 7 boxes of a speciality ammo I couldn't find elsewhere) - had no problems, and would order from them again.

They do seem to sell out pretty quickly. I signed up for their email list-- quick notice of pricing and stock.

A great source for .223 frangible is Tactical Defense Solutions. I'm not sure of the site name, but if you google it, you'll find it. Very cheap frangibles, and very nice guy with which to deal.

I do not know where it is on sale, but it isn't at Cabelas. I ordered S&B .45 ACP 230gr. FMJ ammo Monday Dec 31st for 12.99 a box, I checked this evening and it is now 17.99 a box. Thats a big jump in a week, I need a new supplier.

For those of you who prefer the .40 S&W (short and wimpy ) Cheaper Than Dirt has Winchester Ranger 155gr box of 50 on sale for $13.33.
Too bad I don't use it as it's almost as cheap as practice ammo.
