There was no talking to with this guy he was pretty pigheaded about this. But I bet the downturn in revenue caused him to see the error of his way.

I agree with you to a point, but I don't think there was enough time between the outrage and the signs coming down that he could tell that much of a change.

My guess is that a regular customer or two made the same arguments as others did and the *threat* of lost revenue was what prompted the change.

He posted within the comments of the post explaining why the 30.06 and 30.07 signs are there, rather than a new post. So unless you dig into the comments you won't see the change. He also sounds kinda snarky about the change instead of any acknowledgement of his misguided efforts to prevent LTC holders from entering his store carrying.

He may have taken down the sign(s) but I would bet the farm that his ideology on this subject has not changed. I am just as pigheaded, if I lived in the area I still would not do business with him in the future regardless of what kind of signs he had or didn't have. He reeks of anti 2A.

I did my NFA engraving through them last year, because they are cheap and do a good job. I never noticed the signs when I was there. I would be willing to bet that the signs were put up by the guy who manages the store. He is NOT the owner, although he likes to act like he is the owner (or at least an equal partner of the owner). The actual owner owns a machine shop in Rosenberg. I'd be willing to bet that the manager put the signs up and the owner had them taken down.

There is a saying in IT that one should eat his own dog food. The idea is if you create software for others to use, you should use your own creations. Either it's good enough for you to use yourself, or you fix it out of selfish frustration. Either way, things get better.

For those who run gun stores, their "dog food" is guns. Pretty tasty stuff. Very strange a gun store would have qualms about law abiding customers with their product.

You should ask him if he's looking for a new manager. If it weren't all the way on the other side of Houston I might submit my resume.

Yeah, it seems like an odd relationship. I had gotten some SBR lowers engraved there at the store. About a month later I was looking for a place to drill my titanium end cap for my Form 1 Suppressor, and I went to a local machine shop. They had a receiver set sitting in there that I recognized from Avenger Arms. I spoke with the owner of the machine shop, pointed to the lowers, and said, you must be the partner of the guy that runs Avenger Arms. He looked at me and said "Partner? I'm the owner of Avenger Arms. That is my shop. Sam just works for me." I thought it was a little odd, but he did drill my end cap, cut my spacer, and engrave my can for me while I waited, so I really couldn't complain.

I'd sure like the owner to explain to the gun buying public, if in fact, the signs were his idea or not.

Or, did the manager erect the signs without notifying the owner and he, the owner was unaware of the signs...though I can't see the owner not knowing about the signs.

Here at Avenger Arms we have heard and read everyone's comments about our 30.06 sign. As the owner I have decided to take it down
last week. We hope the resolves the issues of our potential customers. Now that the sign is down we can't wait for all of you to rush in
and support us. Thank you

I remember doing your engraving. My name is Sam and I am the owner. The signs were suggested by the property owner
but after the negative responses I removed the 30.06 sign.
