Not sure your math is correct. 48*96*142 = 652,336 pounds and remains 142 psi regardless of square inches. Still a tremendous amount.

psi is psi. Dimensional analysis rules apply. 10X atmospheric.
Lying phone, your probably right, math is not my strong suit!

Tell me if this sounds about right:
15 M.O.A.B. bombs produced in 2003.
15 year operational shelf life on said bombs.
It's going to be an interesting year.

Puts a new turn on the phrase "Smoke 'em if you've got 'em."

Judging by the colors, looks like this is a John Deere special! Wonder what the part number is...
What did the plow say to the tractor? Pull me closer, John dear.

Whether it is technically a MOAB or MOP, they both can be used for similar purpose which is bunker busting. Regardless, my point is the sensationalism of calling it the "mother of all bombs" is thick. Especially since the MOP is bigger.

G26ster, that's what.
The MOP is only heavier by weight due to the thick steel needed to penetrate concrete. The blast is what makes the MOAB the Mother Of All (non-nuclear) Bombs. The MOP's blast is less than 20% by weight of the bomb, compared to almost 90% of the MOAB. Much bigger boom per pound than a MOP.
I understand that. I've read the Wikipedia articles also.
Then you would have to agree it is the Mother Of All Bombs dropped since WWII.

I believe calling it that is sensationalism. Am I not allowed to have that opinion?
I think it was more of a play on Eastern hyperbole. "Mother of all battles" or one on the oldest examples where speaking of KSA, "Babylon the Great, the Mother of the Whores, and the Abominations of the earth." REV 17:5

It's just a nickname like many other things in the military.
Regarding the "expiration" of those things, another phrase comes to mind. Use it or lose it!

And, perhaps more importantly, smashed their tunnel network in that area.
