Congrats Jgue and Bones! I wish I could say things were going so well, myself. I finally got a letter from the DPS with my PIN over the weekend. 75 days after they got my application originally, 25 days after they got my signed TR-100 back, and 33 days after they e-mailed this PIN to me! So things may be moving faster for some, but not for all of us.

Got It Today

Post by Bones3 »

The coveted plastic arrived in the mail today.

Application Received per USPS Return Receipt - April 5th
PIN Received - May 10th (Letter dated May 4th)
Application Completed - license issued or certificate active - May 26th
Received license in mail - June 5th

61 Days Total

Thanks to everyone here for being so supportive during this trying time.
I'll try to do the same for the good folks here in the waiting room. It's a
chore waiting guys & gals, but it will arrive eventually.

Now for some Walmart nachos for dinner. I'm outta here.

:chldancing

Thanks for the dancer Charles

Well, day 73 and still "Processing Application". I'll get it soon enough I'm sure, but I'm gettin' anxious. Same old blah blah blah....I know. Hangin' in there.

Like the dancer Bones3 - M.C. "Hammer". How fitting.

I just got my PIN. Exactly one month from when I received my confirmation of receipt.

Hopefully I should receive my license within the next month!
I'm at 56 days from confirmation of receipt. 4 days until I'm "overdue".

6 weeks behind

Post by Roger Howard »

When I called DPS to see if they had even recieved my paper work I was told they were 6 weeks behind. They moved fairly quickly once they started the processing. I mailed my application on 3/13/06 and recieved a letter stating they had started processing my application on 4/24/06. I recieved my CHL on 5/30/06. The DPS website showed the license issued on 05/25/06. 78 days total. Roger

The son and I calculated his waiting time so far... He mailed his packet off March 25, & it was "signed" for (actually a signature stamp...) on March 28. His PIN came in sometime mid-May, & the website still shows "processing."

74 days and counting. Not that he's impatient, mind you ;-) (nor myself, neither - yeah, right) but I do think it's about time I wasn't the only one in the family with the permit.

He's also a member here, but hasn't posted much yet. That may change once he actually has that piece of plastic in hand.

All guns have at least two safeties. One's digital, one's cognitive. In other words - keep the digit off the trigger until ready to fire, and THINK. Some guns also have mechanical safeties on top of those. But if the first two don't work, the mechanical ones aren't guaranteed. - me

53 days and counting for new license issue. :sleep

Somehow, I doubt they're going to be done in under 60 at this point. OTOH, my Coronado vest has been backordered as well, so maybe the timing will work out .

Just got word

Post by O6nop »

Just checked the CHL web site and it says that my license is processed and in effect. I just need to receive it from them and I'll be carrying. It took just a hair over 60 days.

Congratulations, 06nop! I'm finally in the same boat you are. Yesterday, day 91 since DPS got my app originally, the status changed to App. Completed. I hope we both have that little piece of plastic in our hands soon!
