It is definitely a new experience carrying in a place where you have been 1000 times before without a handgun. It felt like I had a rocket launcher on my waist and everyone was staring at me. I noticed quickly that no one had interest in me at all. I hope everyone gets their plastic soon.

On a side note, now that I have my license, I am no longer frustrated with how long it took to get to me.
Hey Z8442 did you feel like eveybody were looking at you.
Oh yeah I felt like they were all staring at me. I felt like I had a sign on me that said, "LOOK AT ME!!! I HAVE A WEAPON ON MY WAIST!!! Haha. But I did get less nervous closer to the end.

That's great, Arch Stanton!

I ran all kinds of errands with the kids: Walmart, Target, Menchie's frozen yogurt...(no adults, so no pics) and no one was the wiser. Even my son, who is always trying to make me when I'm carrying at home, had no clue!
Carrying does make you think about things differently. For example, I let my kids run up and down the street to their friends' houses, but I don't want to go out without carrying? I guess it goes back to the idea that I live here because I feel safe, and my kids need to learn some independence, but criminals don't make appointments and I need to be ready, too. I don't think I worded that quite right, but hope yall know what I mean. I can't keep my kids locked up or be their armed escort 24/7, but I will do what I can to protect myself and whomever is with me to make sure I get home to them every day.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
