Walmart on 518 and 146, had around 13 boxes (100 rounds) of 9mm (now only 9) and a few others.
More ammo than I had seen on that store in over a month. No limits that I could see. Probably could have bought more than 400 rounds, but figure I leave the rest for someone else.

Be glad when we start seeing some in Lufkin.
At Academy yesterday & called the 2 gun shops in town. Still no 380 of any flavor.

Walmart at Westheimer & kirkwood had full shelf of blazer brass 40 caliber this morning around 10:30am. I have not seen so much ammo in a walmart for a long time. No 9mm or 45 though.

Where I'm living the Walmart hasn't had any 9mm, .45 cal nor .40 cal for quite some time. A manager at Walmart told me the ammo was even on back order for the distribution centers for Walmart. I went by Gander Mountain and they had the 115 gr JHP 9mm boxes of 50 (Federal Cartridge) for $60.00 a box; and Federal Cartridge just a few miles from where I live. So, my range time has been greatly reduced. I use FMJ for the range and even those are quite scarce. :cryin

The walmart at 610 and Post Oak also had around 2000 rounds of Blazer 40 S&W yesterday when I bought 600 rounds. I have seen a ton of Blazer 40 being reported at Walmart in the last week for some reason. I wonder why it is only that caliber and not the others??

Academy on Spencer at B8 had lots of Monarch 45 ($17.99), 9mm ($10.99) and 38 special ($??) and quite a bit of UMC 250 count 9mm ($56) and 45 ($98) at 11AM, I called a friend who went there at lunch and said all the UMC was gone and he bought the last 4 boxes of Monarch 45 and most of the Monarch 38 special. They weren't limiting and I didn't figure it would last long. It's a hit or miss, I also stopped at the Academy on Market at I10 at 9AM and they had a bit of Monarch 9MM and that's it.

Walmart 1604 & Portranco in San Antonio had a bunch of Blazer 9mm and .40 yesterday althought they are limiting to 2 boxes per person. Academy across the street on 1604 has 9mm (they usually do lately).

Academy on I10 and Uvalde has 8 Mega Pack 250-round boxes of Remington UMC .45 FMJ for $98.99 left. Limit 1 per person.
Carter's Country on Shaver has Winchester WB .45 FMJ 50-round for $28 and 100-round for $59. They had lots of 9mm, 38 special and others too.

The High Caliber Gun Show vendors in Pasadena today wanted $35-40 for 50 .45 FMJ. I left there empty handed and called Academy. Within 15 minutes I left there with .45 FMJ for $20 per 50 in bulk. Much better deal don't you think? Gotta love Academy right now. :thumbs2:

Some reasonable prices at the Mesquite Gun Show today and tomorrow (30-31 May) LOTS of reloads and cheap prices ($17 for 50 FMJ 9MM), but I'm leery of reloads from a stranger.

I hate to be a scrooge but 17 bucks for 50 rounds of 9mm is crazy high!!! Folks...quit letting the ammo dealers rip us off and the gouging will stop. If we all continue to run around acting like ammo is heroin, the price will never drop.

10 boxes of Blazer .40 at Wal-mart on 529@Hwy 6 in Houston.
No 9mm or .45 :cryin
They also have a sign up that says ONE box per person...
Be sure to bring your Significant other, Brother, Mother, and 2nd cousin if you decide to go shopping there :rolll

Some folks dont have any. They have to pay that or not practice. The limits on ammo in some of the Mega cities make it unrealistic to drive 30 minutes for the one box of ammo.
I load so I have SEVERAL thousand rds of everything except .380 for the ladies. about 600 there now.
38sp is real low too but I have them here to load.
BTW when is the group buy on bullets coming up???????

Mental Note: When the proverbial fan gets hit, Get to Lufkin ASAP, and bunker down with LT

I have only a few hundred rounds, total, of all calibers. Finding ammo in Houston, especially SD ammo, is nigh impossible.

Weekend report on the Houston East Side: Tons of 9mm Monarch at the Academy at BW8 and Spencer and the Academy on I-10 near BW-8, enforcing the limit of 2 boxes per person. The Academy on I-10 had quite a few UMC Mega Packs of 40 S&W for $80 and the clerk said he ran out of the UMC Mega Pack .45 that morning :mad5. I found 4 WWB 9mm boxes at the WW on I-45 near BW8, we bought them all. Also cleaned out 6 boxes of BB 40 S&W from Walmart on I-10 near BW8. 1400 rounds in an hour drive around town so I would say it was an ok afternoon. Still trying to find .45 ACP, but at least the other calibers seem to be in a regular stock.
