I didn't like the color of the wood on my 357 Rossi 92, so I made it a Black Gun :mrgreen:

I had no idea I would ever post in this thread. When Bold Ideas moved to Texas, I said I would be first in line to buy a Colt with "Made in Texas" on it. I am sure I was not first, but here's mine.

Here is my "black gun" as you can see it is not all black.

Barrel:
16" NATO 5.56 cal. 4150 Chrome-moly vanadium heavy fluted hardened at 26-33 Rc. 11 degree crown
Polished Chamber and lapped bore turned on center to prevent distortion when heated under sustained fire, broche button rifled 1-9 rh twist
NiB-X M-4 feed ramp barrel extension, mag particle tested
Quad rail .750 gas block, SS gas tube
Battle comp heat treated 416 SS black oxide muzzle break (full auto rated)
Aluminum fore grip tube with troy vertical grip

Upper:
7075 M4 aluminum billet forged mil-spec hard coat anodized type III "T" marked
PRI Gas Buster handle
NiB-X M-16 bolt carrier and bolt

Lower:
7075 billet forged mil-spec hard coat anodized type III
CMMG two stage trigger group
KNS 154" trigger pin lock set
Aluminum Magpul trigger guard
Ergo Grip
Mil-spec receiver extension with Gun-Worx QD sling swivel castle nut extension tube lock
Spike tactical ST-T2 heavy tungsten powder filled buffer
JP flat wire buffer spring (rated at 60,000 cycles)

Just getting started with mine. CMMG Carbine, 1:9. Optics are already gone. Looking for something else.

Took it to the range for the first time & was sighting in at 100yds with iron sights (MBUS rear).

I got that & just wanted to shoot at 50yds. As we were wrapping up & getting ready to move to pistol range, I was trying to burn through this last mag. I heard the RSO call for a cease fire & I just got trigger happy. All day long I had 4 bullseyes, but my last 4 shots were bullseyes at 50yds with bulk ammo. I thought my spotter was just messing with me!
