An interesting thread on the subreddit /Houston. Complaining about too many threads devoted to crime and murder in Houston. How it was really annoying that so much emphasis was being placed on crime, murder, robbery, no bond, weak judges, etc.
Almost everyone who commented seemed to agree that is was just partisan and was really annoying to their visit to the Houston subreddit. They wished people would stop posting about it.

On July 7, 2021 a dad leaving with his teenage son at an Astros game gets in a road rage with another car leaving the game. A young man in the other car fires into the car with the father and son. The son is hit and dies in the hospital. The other car speeds off. There is a racial component. A man hunt is started by the police to find the road rage shooter. The suspect is identified and is asked to come in. With Quanell X by his side he turns him self in. He has an alibi he was with friends 30 miles away at a party, They will vouch for him.

Police mention however his Phone was at the scene of the crime at precisely when it happened. It was not told to anyone but the two cars hit each other. Our party guy, who has the same model Buick as is pictured in security footage leaving the scene, well his Buick was mysteriously burned to the ground and abandoned. Judge set no bond. Sounds like a whole new alibi needs to be invented now involving the theft of his car and phone.

Woman murdered while she was pulling into her garage at 5:30 am. In West Houston.

I am assuming they found 50 shell casings at the scene.

So they were very bad shots, multiple shooters, the were really mad at her, wanted to leave a message, really wanted to make sure she was dead or all of those.

A man walked up and head butted and punched a man in the face who was in the parking lot of a store at 2:30 am.

The man who was attacked apparently then shot the man three time and fled the scene. The head butter may have died.

The man who fired has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

You may have noticed I have been just editing Houston Mean Streets just adding the carnage each day to the same post until something truly awful occurs ( murder is just so common now )
when I give it a new post. Today is such a day.

An off duty New Orleans police officer and a friend were having an outdoor patio dinner at the Grotto restaurant near the Galleria ( I believe a Tillman Fertitia restaurant I have eaten at this restaurant more times than I can count) When two black men with guns walked up and demanded their valuables. The men were complying when one of the robbers decided to shoot them anyway. Murdering the police officer and seriously wounding his friend.

Houston is becoming a friggen shooting gallery.

Mom with two kids in the car is shot at in a road rage incident on 610 near the Heights. Black man fires into her car after he attempts to merge into her lane. Both children in the car are wounded. The car had paper plates. The getaway car where the diner at the Grotto was murdered also had paper plates. I think every car with paper plates needs to be stopped just to check on whether they are legit.

If you look up in this post a man was murdered on 610 East while driving. His two children were able to bring the car safely to a stop just a few days ago.

Video of 2 young men beating a 15 year old while he is just eating his lunch in the school cafeteria in Houston. Kicking him in the head while he is on the ground. They wanted to fight him and he refused. No beef just wanted to fight him. Said it would make them cool.

14 year old murdered by two men in a residential area of Kingwood has been identified as a son of a police officer.

It was 8:30 at night when it happened. Kingwood is about as far away from the center of the city and still be in Houston. No doubt this family moved this far out to be “safe”.

This tragedy comes right on top of two Houston police officers being shot, one dieing. The scum that shot them was out on a low bond of course.

Burglars break into one of Houston’s Art Museums Bayou Bend.

Alarms sound and a guard chases them out of the museum. Police take pursuit and lose them as they board a motorboat on the Bayou. Police set up check points at bridges. They are spotted and make a u turn on the Bayou. They enter a storm culvert and are chased in there. Their boat is caught but not the burglars.
