Contact DPS, and see if they can tell you why there is a delay. If they can't help contact your State representatives, they can get things moving along pretty quickly.

April 20th- took the instructor class
April 22nd- submitted paperwork and proof of class completion
April 23rd- fingerprints submitted
Not sure at all when the Dps website updated, everything is green except the background check which is taking forever! I have nothing on my background but a no insurance ticket.

Greetings everyone!

New member here. Guess I’ll introduce myself. I have held a Kansas and Florida CHL for about 4 years now. Carried for an overall 7 years. Hey, open carry was my only option at the time! Originally from Michigan, stationed in Kansas for 4.5 years. Wife is from FL hence the FL license. We are currently down here in El Paso where I have decided to join the greatest state in the US. Truck has been registered, New DL and I have applied for a Texas LTC. Fingerprinting on Tuesday and everything else has been submitted. Glad to be here with y’all. Hope to learn some new stuff and in turn, teach someone else something. Have a great Saturday

Update: BACKGROUND IS COMPLETE!!! Print is pending as we speak i hope i have it this week thank jesus!!

I sure am going crazy! Have you received yours? Mine updated to mailed! So now I’m definitely checking the mailbox everyday!

I have now had my packet in since 5 May and no movement since then. I will attempt to contact DPS today as there has been no movement. This is especially hard to believe since I was once a Texas Peace Officer and they already had tons of info on file from years ago.

Thanks. Do they send you a second email saying you are approved or does it show up on the link from the first email where you check your status?

Not yet, but maybe today is the day. If not I am probably going to have to buy a new mailbox because I am wearing the door out.
