You keep saying you're getting the information "straight from the horse's mouth" yet you seem as surprised as the rest of us that "they can't seem to get their lies straight."

I suspect the truth is not even the folks working on the applications know exactly how far behind they are. DPS needs to come out and issue a press release letting the public know what they're doing to fix the situation now.

For the rest of us, just be patient. Hopefully it doesn't come down to an applicant being murdered while continuing to abide by the law while they are awaiting their CHL approval.

Is that some sort of attempt to call me a liar? Believe what you want. I have nothing to gain by making an issue of this practice.

Not at all, sir. Perhaps misinformed, but certainly not a liar.

However, you don't seem to have one clue how the goverment works. The idea is to have a system of checks and balances in every branch of government. Ultimately, we, THE PEOPLE, are the check and balance for the entire government. If you don't choose to participate in that, so be it, but don't chastize others for exercising their rights.

I seriously doubt that these "cry babies," as you call them, are writing to their elected officials to request special treatment. I also seriously doubt an elected official would give the time of day to one of those requests. However, there is no shame in asking someone closer to the fire to see if your steak is cooked yet.

LOL...it is you who doesn't seem to know how Government works. I do appreciate your innocence.

Oh and one more time. I never said I hold it against the CB's for using this taactic. I even said I am thinking about utilizing myself. I said...I DON'T THINK IT IS RIGHT FOR THE DPS TO PULL SOMEONE TO THE FRONT OF THE LINE BECAUSE A STATE REP. ASK FOR PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT. I ALSO SAID THAT THEY DON'T LIKE IT EITHER BUT HAVE NO CHOICE AT THIS POINT.

Joining in something that you are criticizing. Hipocracy abounds!

I apologize for offending you, rocks. It's time to go home.

Take care and God's (and DPS's) speed to everyone.

Gig 'em.

Criticizing someone for doing something you condoned. Yep...Hypocrisy abounds!

After 160 +/- days of waiting, I have no doubt whatsover but that the hard copy letter to Ms. Jan Coffey and e-mails to the Gov, Lt. Gov and our State Senator helped free Mrs. Oldgringo's CHL. In fact, the Gov's office e-mailed a letter they had sent to the boss of DPS. A couple of days after receiving the e-mail, our State Senator's office called the house and told Mrs. Oldgringo that her license was approved and 'shur nuff', it was.

Elected officials are elected to serve their constituents - not the other way around!

I do believe I am on record as advocating and recommending it, rather than criticizing it. In fact, I even advocate and recommend YOU doing it. You and I are in the same boat - date wise. As soon as they get one of ours, likely the other will come.

Best of luck.

And in your case..I think George Bush should have gotten involved. :txflag: That was a horrible situation. The situation with Old Mrs Gringo was one of a person who should have been at the front of the line getting shoved to the back. I don't know how you maintained your cool through all that. It was actually beginning to look like somebody down there had it in for you folks. Your situation is not the same as a person with 61 days under his belt getting pulled ahead of folks with 90 to 120 days behind them.

Again...to be clear. The situation that is happening now is that there are a select few who have been pulled ahead of others(with much longer wait times under their belts) due to complaining to their State rep. Some here seem to feel this is a good policy...I think it stinks.

I am hoping I am not far off. At least I know they are working it now. Somehow it makes the wait more tolerable. Good luck to you also. :cheers2:

You might want to actually elaborate and explain, rather than just linking to a thread that ends with you linking to another thread.

I don't think you're being paranoid. I think you're seriously misjudging the number of state reps being called, and how many of them actually, effectively, interject themselves into the process.

I think that every time you see someone say they're calling or writing their state rep, you think they automatically jump to the head of the line in front of you. There's really no evidence to support that. If anything, we've seen that state reps are useful for getting people off of the bottom of the pile and back to their rightful place in the line, not jumping to the front of the line.

On the link...anyone smart enough to follow the link will be smart enough to get the point. This is not a case of someone getting pulled back to their rightful place either. You know that too...so I guess I didn't need to mention it.

03Lightningrocks,

What did you screw up on your application as you mentioned in another post? Maybe others could learn from past miscues.

Apologies to anyone who might have been offended by the post of mine that got yanked. I let too much vitriol loose and made some, shall we say, less than diplomatic statements.
