Yeah the solution is, do the new ones first, and forget about the people who filed before June.

Congrats!
Isn't that actually 76 days? Don't mean to split hairs, but you're upsetting the people still waiting in the April and May threads
Odd question for you - did you check your status yesterday? If so, was it still at "Processing Application"? Reason I ask is cause I've noticed a trend of Wednesdays being the day of the week most people go active (Application Completed - etc). They only send out the online app paperwork on Thursdays, so it's not a stretch to think that they also have a system for updating the status page.

Yeah, that is 76 days, was using 30 day month for base. Nice call. Hope those folks in April/May get theirs soon. I still don't understand the order here. I didn't check it yesterday. I checked it Tues. and it was still in processing. I haven't checked the web much, probably once a week or so. Just been hanging out in here seeing when people started getting theirs.

Out of impatience seeing as how I have waited just as long as other's who have an 'application completed' status or have plastic inhand I called DPS today. I was told they are still waiting on background check info which they requested 3 week's ago

!!!
I have lived in only one county my whole life so I'm confused as to the holdup but it is Harris County

!

Just gave them a ring to check the status, and the person I spoke with actually answered on the 3rd ring, and told me I was simply waiting on the background check to return.

well I'm almost a month ahead of you guys and they also told me I am waiting for the background check to come back.
I remain unconvinced that this is real information.

I just found out that because I live in Harris County that that is most likely the reason for my delay

. It has been almost 4 week's for the DPS awaiting my background check, told to me by the DPS, and I'm starting to get PO'd! If I dont get an 'application complete status' by friday I'm may contact my state rep on monday

, can I get the link for contacting our state rep please??? ! It has been 79 day's since the DPS officially recieved my application.

Looks like someone in the July applications thread has already got theirs. It sure seems that there is no method to their madness. Hope some of us don't have to wait and get skipped over like some of those in March and April.

^^ Maybe they lived in one county for the last 10 years or something. I think the background checks from the counties that a person has lived in takes the longest amount of time for the application process.

I have lived in one county all of my 44+yr's and the DPS has been waiting for my background result's for almost 4 week's, blasphemy if you ask me!! I have noticed that the applicant's who have recieved their plastic within a 60-70 day period, the DPS recieveing their app's one week or more later than mine, live in very small and unpopulated county's compared to my county.

Regardless of what DPS

says it shouldn't matter what county you are in there should be a set of rules regarding this and there doesn't seem to be. It seems counties can take as long as they want to on these checks. We all paid our money (if we had to that is

) so we should be treated fairly and done in order. We shouldn't be at the mercy of some little county clerk who is too busy wasting our tax money instead returning our background checks.
