I'm in Harris and sent my application almost the same time as you. It looks like we will be waiting for sometime due to a delay in background checks. In the September application thread, someone found out there is only one person who works on the Harris county background checks. This person was also re-assigned for 5-6 weeks after the hurricane so nobody was working on them during that time. There must be a huge backlog.
