Based on recent history, it looks like the typical wait is almost 100 days. I guess that means I should look for my plastic around the end of August.

13 May 2009 - CHL class
21 May 2009 - Hand-carried application to DPS
25 Jun 2009 - PIN Received
As of 22 Aug: Still stuck at "Processing Application"
XX XXX 2009 - Application Approved
XX XXX 2009 - Plastic in Hand

Even though my buddy and I went to the state agency to have our fingerprints done, his got rejected the first week of July. So far my status is still showing as "processing application." I'm in Travis County.

:iagree: I waited 114 days for the process to end, but that may be different where you live. Hope the best for you, and hope your wait won't be long. Hang in there.

well I checked my status today and it changed, but not to anything good "Application incomplete - missing information - detailed letter has been sent." I really do not know what I could have missed as I was pretty anal about everything, is it possible to call and find out?

Definately call. They (The DPS) don't answer emails in a timely manner (if at all). I sent one over a week ago and so far?.....*crickets chirpping*

I can predict the future. You will receive a response, and it will say:
At this time we are awaiting the completion of the background investigation. Unfortunately, we do not have an estimated time of completion Thank you for your continued patience.

Well I called, it was not that I forgot something it was the DD-214 I sent in was the "MEMBER 1" instead of the "MEMBER-4" copy which show the type of discharge in block 24. So lucky I have a letter from the VA showing my status that they will accept I just have to fax it in.
