Maybe asking to work the weekend, and worried about 354? If they leave, there might be enough to bring it to the floor and pass it? So it's a "pinky swear" type of thing?

Dunno; with the kidding around today about Wentworth; might just be Dewhurst making a mother's day joke/punishment joke on Zaffrini for wasting time earlier in the week, asking her to work through Mother's day to make up lost time.

Although there IS a House calendar for Saturday .... I assume working this weekend was a joke. I could be wrong.

HB 12 Immigration/Police/law enforcement is being laid out in the House now, but every bill I saw earlier was read, then postponed.
Author wants to discuss amendments and take questions

Yup
And hopefully HB 750 .... because after it goes through the house, it will be easier to get through the Senate, due to certain rules. (I think so anyway)

Which makes calling all, what - 100? - representatives to thank them for their vote on the parking lot bill that much more important...

I'm emailing the other 100 or so Reps.

I am not counting SB 354 out until the last week in May. HB 750, either.

I still think there will be an 11th hour push on it. And this time, it will go through.

Thank you for letting me know your support for HB 750 which passed out of the House Homeland Security and Public Safety Committee favorably. HB 750 was considered in the House Calendars Committee on April 21 and does not yet have a consensus. As a Co-author of HB 750, I will continue to work with my colleagues on getting this legislation scheduled for consideration on the House floor. Once again, thank you for contacting me and please let me know whenever I may be of assistance to you.

Regards,

Jim Keffer

State Representative

Really? How many votes require a consensus?
Something like 10 of the 15 members of the committee are co-sponsors. There has to be something else going on.

See number 2 here at the link provided below

Yes I know it says "Here are 3 things you can do"

I know it was written by a UT Grad (Doctoral) Student

I know the 3 things are numbered:

1
2
2

so see both number 2s

(Looks like Mr Woods really likes doing "Number 2")

But, disregarding all that, see what they are doing by examining all his "number 2s" especially the one closest to the bottom.

Make the calls/faxes/e-mails ...

Calendar committee was supposed to meet again Monday I believe, but then called their meeting earlier yesterday from the House Floor. here's the minutes from yesterday's Calendars meeting (HB 750 not considered)

April 21st Calendar meeting Minutes

Representative Hunter moved that the following measures not be placed on the calendar at this time: HB 14, HB 32, HB 107, HB 331, HB 621, HB 710, HB 750, HB 964, HB 1278, HB 1319, HB 1429, HB 1448, HB 1801, HB 1821, HB 2248, HB 2282, HJR 19, HJR 56, HCR 27, HCR 85.

The motion prevailed without objection.

See the above post and make the calls/faxes/e-mails ... only squeaky wheels get greased. Woods is squeaking ... see all his number 2 here http://us1.campaign-archive2.com/?u=211 ... d57fb711c8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

:thumbs2: going to be a fun time this week ;-)
be sure to call / fax calendars in the House, that's where the "other side" is administering pressure today/tomorrow
