Jimmie Don Aycock (born October 14, 1946) is a semi-retired veterinarian, rancher, and businessman in Killeen who is a Republican member of the Texas House
Aycock's office says Burnet won't be in his district next session, She doesn't know if Dr. Suzanna Hupp is running for election (yes I asked if it's true, and if so if she knew if Dr. Hupp was running next time)
He was against it due to 200 "constituents" calling (Andy Peolisi/colin goddard/john woods having out of state people call saying they live here? and 100 Democrats who didn't vote for him ?) She says she answers the phone and they were flooded with calls against it

dunno if it was removed or not yet... it was a closed meeting, details unknown

She says he just released a statement he doesn't think it should be on an appropriations bill

I assured her than I have family in his new district and LOTS of CHLs and LOTS and LOTS church members in his new district who won't be happy with this ...

Update:
Just called Aycock's office they are saying he was against the campus carry provisions and voted accordingly.

More updates coming.

Still calling people:
Ogden's office didn't know the status.
Wentworth's said they would call me right back.
Called back to appropriations
Campus carry is still on, it was NOT removed
:thewave

Apparently it was a miscommunication earlier. They made no amendments to 1581, just passed it for substitution to 3639.

Thanks warhorse10_9 :tiphat: .... about to double up on my blood pressure meds (j/k)

Well, Aycock's office heard from me anyway again "rlol" :smilelol5: "rlol" I think she understands where I stand
He won't last long listening to 100 out-of-state people and 100 Democrats which didn't vote for him originally...but it's his career decision

Aycock's office did say he will cause a problem on the floor (in different words)
Dunno others positions ... nor the rest of the House.

So, does anybody know when it will come back to the floor to be read/voted on? Seems that all folks had to do to get things removed from the calendar today was to state that they had in excess of 10 minutes of questions about the bill.

That was Local/Consent calendar HOUSE Bills.

House Calendars is meeting right now (noon) for SENATE bills ... we will see when the SB is calendared when it is posted, or if it pops up today if it can; could be Monday ... dunno yet.

Seriously/personally, I'd have been thrilled with 2178 which would bring Texas in line with the MAJORITY of States... like Virginia, where John Woods' sister goes ... where it isn't "illegal" but let schools put up "gunbuster" policies. You wouldn't know I was carrying, unless a situation arose.

Yeah, my blood pressure was going up to. lol

Looks like there might be a call to action to contact Aycock's office and express our support soon. I might call back this afternoon...

He was also TSRA-endorsed in the 2010 election, which means he answered correctly on their questionnaire about campus carry. Of course, we know no politician ever lied to help get elected.

I think he has an NRA "A+" rating. Or at least an "A".

Subject to change soon possibly .... I heard "He supports the Second Amendment, BUT" from his staffer.

He's not the only one who is likely to lose a TSRA "A" rating over campus carry, I'm willing to bet.

We'll see. I'm sure there's someon in the House who can put concealed carry somewhere.

What's this about Caucus chairs ... voting for a batch of bills at a time, unless there is opposition ....
Only on "General State calendar"
doesn't affect Major State or ... calendars.

They can register a no vote later prior to adjournment on any individual bill in the batch..

Interesting change in procedure I'm unfamiliar ...

Still, neither the SB nor HB is actually on today's Supplemental House calendar that's posted (posted before calendars met at noon) .... SB 5 is as "postponed business" though

Now they are running through Local/Consent for final passage of each they heard earlier today; reading them all at once, to vote once it looks like ...
