If I am asked for 2 photo I Ds They get My DL and my VA card.
Some OC folks for the same reason will prance around , til the new wears off
When I'm asked to show ID and I give a DL, it's not like I'm thinking "Oh, look at me, I'm special...I can drive a car!!!"
Why would it be any different with CHL? There is a utility in the fact you can use CHL if needed for primary or secondary ID.
Anyone can get a DL starting at age 16 and getting one is something like an American right of passage. Cars are ubiquitous. Some liberals and moms go weak in the knees and hyperventilate at the mere sight of a gun.....something they don't usually do at the mere sight of a car unless it's a Prius (liberal) or a Lamborghini (mom demanding action). Only a very small minority of people have CHLs so someone using one as ID is likely to be considered unusual or unique by the general public. While you and those on here may not feel special using it for ID I think you're underestimating human vanity if you don't think there are, perhaps not a majority, but plenty of people out there wanting to say "look at me, I'm special" with their CHL.

Where did you find that minimum age? All I can find is
PC §46.13. MAKING A FIREARM ACCESSIBLE TO A CHILD, which defines a child as anyone under 17 years of age.

I thought about that, but I wasn't sure. Maybe it is 18. It doesn't affect me or my family, so I don't know which it was.

Could, but most don't. In any case, the discussion is about CHLs as ID....most people don't have CHLs. The vast majority of people that have a DL do not have a CHL, so in that context it is definitely not normal to have a CHL.

I find it extremely normal to have a CHL, but its certainly not common.
