RRCHL,

You posted: "Even if they are getting the word out and an earful that still wont stop them from posting signs that are unenforceable. I don't even remember the last time I had to take my firearm off before entering a place of business. Nobody posts 30.06 signs and if they do they aren't noticeable. Same will hold true with the 30.07 signs.

I don't understand.

Most especially this part of your post: "Nobody posts 30.06 signs and if they do they aren't noticeable."

I know of quite a number of business's that have 30.06 signs posted like JSC Credit Union, (they're located all over the Houston and Clear Lake area) St. John's hospital, (and a lot of other hospitals) that are very noticeable. I won't continue to list them, but they're are plenty of others that exist and are properly posted.

Come Jan 1, 2016 30.7 signs will start showing up at business's too.

I would prefer no business's posted these signs, but we have to live with them whether we like it or not.

So, what am I overlooking or simply not understanding regarding your posts about these signs?

Thanks!

Whether or not it is a good idea for a CHL/LTC holder to inform business owners that their signs are unenforceable may soon be a moot point. Businesses, business organizations, and the media are increasingly getting the word out.

Educating business owners on the correct signage is not necessary. They are already getting an earful.

(edited to add one more link)

The important thing is whether the information being put out is accurate.
“The legislation would also allow law enforcement to stop someone who was openly carrying a handgun to check for a gun license. A previous version of the law would have prohibited officers from doing so.”

What are they talking about? I thought stopping someone just to check for a license was ruled out by SCOTUS a long time ago.

And they got #10 partially wrong. After 8/1/16, it is no longer prohibited to carry at a college sporting event unless it posted 30.06.

Really? I don't recall that being part of the discussion. Can you please provide the relevant statute?

Where do you get that? I'm not aware of the sporting events carry prohibition being changed?

Taypo, To answer your question, both of your comments. I guess we might agree to disagree.
Did not mean to step on your toes; just thought your comments came on a little strong.
My opinion only.
Have a good day!

SB 11 modified PC 46.035 b(2) which prohibits carry at sporting events

" (l) Subsection (b)(2) does not apply on the premises where a
collegiate sporting event is taking place if the actor was not given
effective notice under Section 30.06."

Yep, it's there. Odd that it escaped notice and wasn't discussed with everything else that the opposition was throwing up.
