But I don't think the Zoo is the entity that will have to pay the fine. It will be the City of Fort Worth. Will the daycare income offset the $10,500.00 per day fine?

No problem. For just a tad over $3.8 million a year in fines, the city of Fort Worth may resist SB273 and the state legislative intent.rtschl wrote:But I don't think the Zoo is the entity that will have to pay the fine. The fines are per sign, per day.AJSully421 wrote:I wonder if their three signs are a single offense, or a "per sign" compounding factor.
They are not off-limits to CHL carry, however, the social-service agency that regulates them may have some rules regarding the presence of firearms in the facility. This could result in the problem where they cannot prohibit licensed carry (due to being on government property), yet could lose their daycare license (if they actually have one) if they DON'T prevent it. Ultimately, that seems to me to be a problem for THEM, not a problem for the CHL.Scott Farkus wrote:Maybe I missed it but what are the "advantages" to the Zoo to claim it's a daycare? To my knowledge, daycares aren't statutorily off-limits for licensed carry so how does this impact the validity of a 30.06 sign?
