For some FB is the only way they keep up with family members. If you don't want a gun then don't have a gun but don't belittle those who choose to have a gun. Oh, uh, I mean FB page.

You name a few methods that require active participation by both sides. Not everyone has that luxury. You don't like FB. Everyone gets it. You don't have to be an about it though. Unless that's your only mode of being.

I use FB. I like looking at friends and relatives' pictures, and I assume they like looking at mine.
I work full time and have two small children. I'm recovering from a Harvey flood. I haven't gone out to dinner with friends since prior to the storm. I doubt I could ever meet up with the out-of-towners. Facebook helps us stay in touch and know what is going on in each others' lives.

Until we walk that mile in another's shoes, the Lord gave some good advice in Mathew 7:1-3. Live our lives as we are guided by him and not the loud voices of angry men. Perhaps someday as FB is burned into pillars of salt we will just carry on and not look back.

Here is and alternative to facebook for those that are interested. Maybe enough people will move over to it so it will be a viable platform. However, it appears quite a few that have set up accounts have done so in addition to their facebook account rather than instead of.
