Cell phone sale goes bad, 14 year old and man with him shot. Phone stolen. Pregnant woman not shot.
Note to self. Do not attempt to sell a cell phone to a person you met on line at 1 am in the morning in SW Houston.
Commentors seem to feel that the cell phone was stolen before it was stolen.

1 dead, 1 maybe dead. 20 evidence markers on the ground.
Commenter called it Thursday in Aldine.
Northeast Houston.
I’d call it a shootout.
Art has been all conservative on the DA recently for short sentences.

Ok now I’m really confused. DA Kim Ogg who the liberal chief of police is being critical of for being weak on crime, the Chronicle comes out with an article where she is asking for more money to hire more attorneys to put more people in jail and all my liberal sites are up in arms over the large number of Houstonians already in jail and how she is going to make this all worse.
To me if you don’t have enough attorneys you have to plead them down and you have to let them out on lower bail because you can’t get them to trial quickly.

IMHO there are way too many people in the system for low level drug possession charges that should be misdemeanors rather than felonies. America already has the highest percentage of the population in prison than every country in the world. Mostly due to the "war on drugs". It is not working. Time to examine some other tactic than simply locking all users in prison.

That was one of the DA’s first steps was no prosecution for small amounts of Grass.

Female customer pepper sprays hard working owner of nail salon and then splits without paying.
Our country cannot survive if everyone is a criminal. Is this really where we are headed?

Swerved around a car, ran a stop sign then hit a 8 year old little girl walking with her siblings in a cross walk.
She then left the scene.
Little girl was not breathing on her own when para medics arrived.
Police have a female they would like to talk to.
I’ll repeat my statement this country cannot survive if we are all criminals.

Driving on a suspended license. Got in a car accident 12 minutes later. Those victims alerted police.
No news on the little girl.

What was originally portrayed as a horrible accident as a mother accidentally ran over her little 3 year old boy, now becomes negligent homicide as apartment surveillance video shows Mom “playing” dodge car with her 3 children. The two older children were able to get out of the way, but not the three year old.
