"Convo" instead of Conversation.

I've just recently seen this in use and wonder if the guy saying convo thought it made his sound really cool, instead of really dopey...

Using the word "Meters" instead of "Miles" in an American movie about a plot in America.

It comes across like we know we're backward Americans, but we're trying our best to keep up with those smart Europeans...
