According to court records obtained by Eyewitness News, [Robert] Soliz, 24, was out on bond for unlawfully carrying a weapon in a motor vehicle on Feb. 15 when he was arrested.
He was given a $100 bail for that charge. In 2017, Soliz was accused of threatening his girlfriend at the time with murder.
[Sergeant Sean] Rios was killed Monday afternoon in the 7900 block of the North Freeway after police say he engaged Soliz in a gun battle. After being shot, Rios ran into the Taj Inn & Suites motel looking for help and collapsed. He was declared dead at the scene.
Saw that on the news last night. There's understandably a very high evidentiary bar for capital murder--the DA didn't go after murder of a peace officer, which I think was probably the right call--and the humanitarian in me has to believe that the jury was close to a conviction, but that there just wasn't enough to reach intent "beyond a reasonable doubt." My guess is also, considering how Blue Harris County is (how the heck did we re-elect Dora the Explorer as County Judge?!), that the DA's office will not pursue lesser charges. We'll see.philip964 wrote: Wed Nov 16, 2022 9:39 amhttps://www.click2houston.com/news/loca ... sean-rios/Rafe wrote: Tue Nov 10, 2020 6:12 pm Suspect accused of shooting HPD sergeant to death arrested

Despite face and neck tattoos a jury found the man arrested in the shooting death of a police officer not guilty.
The now freed man was out on $100 bond when he killed the officer in a road rage shoot out.
The jury would not have know of his lengthy criminal record, but could have seen his face tattoo.
The police officer leaves behind a wife and family

Houston Juggings are already higher than 2021.
And yes we re-elected all the same judges who let them all out of jail with little bond.
I don't really know for certain why it happens but we have the same problem in Dallas county. All the suburbs vote red but for some reason, Dallas county ends up blue. I don't get why so many major cities keep voting for democrats. It is suicide by politics.anygunanywhere wrote: Thu Nov 24, 2022 9:26 amWhat’s this “we” stuff?philip964 wrote: Thu Nov 24, 2022 12:27 am https://www.click2houston.com/news/loca ... than-2021/

Exactly. The reavers and orcs keep voting the scum to office.03Lightningrocks wrote: Thu Nov 24, 2022 5:44 pmI don't really know for certain why it happens but we have the same problem in Dallas county.
