Follow up on this... my drivers license came in the mail today. Good thing. I was a bit worried about carrying with the CHL while I had the temporary license. Probably wouldn't cause any problems, but I'd still rather have matching plastic than the temporary that I printed online.. The new drivers licenses are interesting too.. like they're printed on a solid piece instead of laminated.

Congrats on the new plastic. I think you will be OK with the temp DL because the computers in Austin are in synch even if you are still waiting for the "real" DL.

Well, after five days "in the mail", it finally arrived.

I think it sat in the mail room there for a couple of days since it's only a two day mail trip to DFW from Austin. I was getting a bit worried, but it's in the wallet now so all is good. Time to get a holster I really like and then off for a wally walk.

I'm right there with you. I took the class on August 14th, I think. Just checked my online status for the first time a few minutes ago and saw a bunch of green check marks.
Guess I better go ahead and order my holster since the company takes almost a month to ship them.

got my plastic today!!!!!

My first time out tonight while carrying consisted of going to Chili's to meet with the florist for our wedding.

Really didn't feel weird though. I think I had worn the gun around the house and worn the holster out in public without my CW that it just kind of feels normal now. I'll have to do a proper "Wally Walk" when I have more time.

Seems like the DPS is really crankin'em out. My status changed to "Manufacturing" yesterday.

I'm still hung up on the background check. There is nothing in my background that would be an issue. I really expected a status change over last weekend.

Oh well.

Last night's update shows my background check is complete and manufacturing in pending.

I may still be on track to having plastic in hand by Monday the 13th.
