Since 1989, I've banked at what used to be Texarkana National Bank, which was then bought by Hibernia National Bank, and Hibernia was just bought by CapitalOne.

Hibernia is (was) a Louisiana/Texas regional bank. Hibernia had generic ghostbusters signs, and I complained quietly about those. The response from their legal department was that they only wanted to abide by federal and state laws banning firearms in banks. I guess they need better lawyers, because there are no federal laws, nor laws in Louisiana or Texas, banning firearms in banks.

I complained "quietly", because I didn't want to alert them to PC30.06.

Anyhoo, the signage changeover to CapitalOne was completed last week. I just noticed that the ghostbusters signs have been removed. Probably just part of the process, to switch all signs and notices to the CapitalOne brand. I'll be keeping an eye out to see if they put up new notices, especially 30.06 compliant signs.

So, put a temporary chalkmark in the "good guys" column, for removing non-compliant signs in favor of no notice at all.

Speaking of good guys in the Texarkana area, Century Bank doesn't post at all, from what I've seen. I don't bank there, and I sure haven't seen all branches, but they're highly visible. If they were posted, I think I could see it while driving by.

This reminds me that I need to write the RRFCU board of directors, telling them why I'm taking my RV loan business elsewhere.

If you mention their lack of response or necessity to provide line and verse that they claim they are abiding, please keep forward that to us. Just for teh vicarious fun of seeing them squirm.
