It's dismaying how people talk about how they "felt safe" when they were somewhere, and nothing happened. We're talking about probabilities, not certainties. It's like some guy walked across a busy freeway blindfolded and nothing happened, so it's "safe." Same logic. No way in Living Hell I would go to Mexico these days.

NASCAR driver Kyle Busch clarifies his arrest in Mexico after discovery of firearm
https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sport ... 96733.html
Kyle Busch was arrested at the Cancun Airport last month, according to a report from the Cancun Sun on Monday, after a firearm was discovered in his luggage as his family prepared to return to the United States.
He says that he "forgot" his concealed carry weapon was in his luggage when he left the United States, and that he was "unaware" of the laws of Mexico about possession of firearms. :nono:

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/worl ... 78564.html
Last week, the two-time Nascar champion was sentenced to three and a half years in prison and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine, the Associated Press reported,

The Mexico federal attorney’s office has since revealed that a local judge allowed conditional punishment for Mr Busch. He left the country after paying an undisclosed bond.
Sounds suspiciously like the Mexican judge received a payoff to allow Mr. Busch to leave the country instead of spending 3 1/2 years in prison.

That looks like EXACTLY what happened lol.
A formal, "officiant" bride to the court, and probably something on the side as well.

Don't go places that don't respect your rights I guess.

I understand Mexican jail can be very expensive, depending on if you want food, clothing and shelter or not. Apparently everything can be had for a price. So sounds like his investment with the judge was well worth it.
