So this lady is listing names of victims of violence so they can be "remembered", but she can't pronounce their names. What an honor, I'm sure.

Ironically, she described them as victims of campus violence. Another reason I'd prefer the choice to be armed in (and on the way into) my campus building.

I could tell what States, Countries they were actually from if I saw them ... I saw Australia, and funniest one was Canada who AFTER it PASSED last night (Different time zone) was spamming the MomsDemand stuff

Last session Reps said "my constituants in numbers said

this session many were more educated and they be like "I hate automated robocalls/out of state misleading momsdemand spam programs etc" ... :coolgleamA: :txflag: :thumbs2:

However, she didn't get the memo maybe thought they were real Texans

Fox7 in Austin had a commercial featuring Colin Goddard saying TEXANS are against .. until it was pointed out he ain't one

Thought that passed through my head. If there had been time, it would have been nice to hear someone counter that those victims would have been better off had they been allowed to protect themselves.

To some people, guns only mean violence, not self defense. That's the whole argument the Dems have been making this entire time. Their argument is that law-abiding CHL holders who have a 20-year track record of being even more law-abiding than peace officers are suddenly more dangerous once they set foot inside a building on campus.

During the open carry debates not one democrat argued against the conceal carry program. I heard many of them arguing to the success of the CHL program. If they believe it's a success at deterring crime off campus why wouldn't the believe it would be a success on campus?

That's because their self-professed support for CHL is disingenuous. They just pretend to support CHL because they don't have any arguments against CHL besides "guns bad".

If Acevedo actually supported CHL like he claims, why hasn't he filed an Amicus Brief with the 9th Circuit in the Peruta case to support the right to bear arms in his former home state of California? California LEOs are telling the court there will be blood in the streets if Californians are allowed to carry concealed. Why hasn't he informed the court of the success of CHL in Texas? (thankfully the Attorney General of Texas has done just that and filed an Amicus with the Texas CHL stats).

Any reason why Phillips can't or shouldn't call for the concurrence vote on HB910 right now?

Beats me. It seems the longer we wait the more time for opposition to build and votes to flip (and less time for conference if concurrence vote fails).
