Is there someone we should write to/call to get this moving on either side?

Any news on when the Senate will reconsider the House Amendments?
I don't see it on the Senate calendar.

I get the feeling they are just letting the clock run out on this. I can't understand why they went to all that effort just to let it run out of time.

Senator Schwertner's office says the open carry bill is on track. I don't feel particularly reassured.

They could each say "We tried our hardest, but THOSE guys killed it." Maybe they all had a pact.

I wonder what Senator Schwertner's office would say about why it's not on the calendar then...

Current status shows that it was received by the Senate on Apr 21:
http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/BillLook ... Bill=HB910
Based upon a precursory reading of the Texas Legislative Guide (
http://www.tlc.state.tx.us/pubslegref/gtli.pdf#page=7), it looks like the Senate has to put it on the Intent Calendar, read the bill in Session, and then it will likely be referred to Committee. I could not find it on any of the Senate Intent Calendars published since then, so either they plan to get to it soon, or plan to let it die (either without action, or with the intent of passing open carry).
I saw no similar action of SB17 in the House, much less even an indication that it has been received by the House.

I'm putting $20.00 on the table saying it will time out and everyone will shake hands and say they tried their best. I hate to be so negitive but were running out of time and the bills are still just sitting there. I will continue to contact who i can but i have a gut feeling it is dead.

Say it isn't so......Public open is in favor! If our reps let politics get in the way....we need to remove them in the next election. No excuses this time!
