This morning I made the rounds on an ammo search:
Wal-Mart, FM1171/West Main St., Lewisville. No 9mm, .40 or .45.
Wal-Mart, FM2181, Hickory Creek. No 9mm or .40. They did have 1 box of WWB, .45, 50 rounds, $19.97.
Wal-Mart, Corner of TX121 and FM423, The Colony, Denton County. About 1100 AM on 9/9/09, Wed.
JACKPOT!!! on 9 and .40 anyway.
.357 - 3 boxes of 50 each.
.380 - None.
9mm, Federal, 50 rounds each, $9.47 a box, 19 boxes remain after I bought 6.
.40, Federal, 50 rounds each, $13.97 a box, 36 boxes..45 - None.
I hope someone needs some of what I found.

So is about .39/.40 cents a round the best that can be had for .45 ACP nowadays?
Here's what I'm finding as best prices for target ammo.
9mm Federal at Walmart $9.47 box of 50 = 19 cents a round
.40S&W or Federal at Walmart $27.97 box of 100 = 28 cents a round.
.45ACP at Academy $98 for 250 rounds = .40 cents a round.
22LR Federal Value Pack at Walmart $15.97 for 550 = 3 cents a round.

I track online target ammo prices on a spreadsheet on my website. I access it on my Blackberry while I'm out and about shopping and see ammo so I can compare the true price per round cost. On a side note, when I'm finally able to get a supply of primers, I hope to buy less factory ammo.
I'd be happy to keep it updated with any deals y'all see out and about if y'all think it would be helpful. Just PM me or email me and I'll add any deals y'all know about.

Kemah Wal-Mart had 3 boxes of WWB 45 100 count for $33....they only had 1 after I left.
They also had about a dozen boxes of 38 Special ...again WWB 100 count for about $25
They had loads of boxes of Federal 9mm 50 count for $10 (or close to)
No sign of the elusive 380 but lots of other calibers (mainly rifle), and .22 LR (that conversion kit looks better and better each day

)

If you can find it at wally world the 45 in 50 count boxes was 15.97 a week or two ago. I Bought a 100 count WWB 9mm for 20.97. It would have been cheaper to buy the federal 50 count at 9.47 a box. One more correction. That federal 22 value pack has now increased to 16.47.... I hope wally world doesn't keep going up. The online ammo guys are already gouging us enough. All we need is for Wally world to give them confidence to increase prices again.
One year ago it was cheaper to buy all calibers of ammo from ammo man than it was wally world. Today it is as much as double for some of ammo mans offerings. I get a special laugh out of him putting SALE in big red letters over a price that is 50% higher than wally world and then putting a limit on it to boot.

It's where I've gotten all of my ammo so far, ~700 rounds.
I usually see a little 44 Mag, but didn't notice that today.
Every other time I've seen it there they've only had WWB, usually in the 100rd value packs.
