Just curious where the 99.94% figure comes from. As in, that only 0.06% are at risk. Does "at risk" mean "they're dead"?

I pretty much agree we're proving that the entire economic and social shutdown was an overreaction in the assumption that COVID-19 was going to prove much more deadly, on a percentage basis, than it has been. But "high-risk individuals" are described: "People 65 years or older, and/or people with medical issues, like heart disease, diabetes, cancer, or a weakened immune system, are at a higher risk for getting very sick from COVID‑19." That's a lot of Americans. In 2018 there were 52 million Americans 65 or older, and that number is growing every year. The 2018 AHA report said that 121.5 million people had some form of cardiovascular disease. In 2018, 34.2 million Americans had diabetes. Stats from the National Cancer Institute say that 439.2 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed every year in the U.S. per 100,000 population; that roughly 38.4% of men and women will be diagnosed with cancer at some point during their lifetimes.

Clearly, a lot of those numbers overlap, and a lot of people with at-risk conditions will be a lot healthier and less susceptible than a minority of them whose health situation is more serious. But still, seems realistic that a lot more than 0.06% are in fact at risk because of age or medical conditions.

Georgia has decided to get back to business and the media is all but calling for the federal government to shut them down. Houston Police Officers Union's response to Judge Hidalgo's draconian mask order:

"Now we want to be very clear, the Houston Police Officers’ Union believes everyone should be wearing a mask in public, in order to protect themselves from the virus and we are encouraging all of our officers to wear a mask. However, we draw the line at the draconian measures Hidalgo has decided to engage in."

Good. This one and other so-called judges who have emerged to elevate their power grip during this pandemic need to get booted out ASAP.

New York City, a major hotspot in a hard-hit state, revised its death toll on Tuesday, adding 3,700 deaths to bring the city's total above 10,000. The added deaths were those who had never been tested but were presumed to have died from the disease.
