Took the class a few weeks back and finally mustered up enough coinage to mail off my packet this morning. Kinda messed up allready though. Didn't think to send it registered or with a return receipt. You live and learn. Have my fingers crossed that all will go well. Guess I've got a few weeks to wait before I get my pin so I'll sit back relax and catch up on some of the other posts. As soon as I hear something I'll post an update

I wouldn't worry. I sent mine regular mail and had no problem. Waiting's the hardest part. Hang in there!

I just got one of these:
http://www.comp-tac.com/catalog/product ... d480b068ee

URL is a little long, sorry.

I am very happy with it, it's comfortable, conceals well, and stays up with my regular belt. Turnaround time was about two weeks.

Hmm pretty sturdy looking. Unfortunately I will be carry a Ruger P345 but I don't see any Rugers listed. Wonder if one of the others would work. Yes I know its bulky gun but I figure if folks can get away with carrying a 1911 I'll find a way to manage.

FWIW my instructor said DPS prefers that you not send it signature required.

FWIW the DPS acknowledges receipt of my original packet on July 3 where I sent it signature required. The follow up information that I had tracked with no signature required was received by them on July 28 and they acknowledge receiving it on August 29. NEVER EVER again will I send them anything without a signature required!

I really should have sent it registered just for my own piece of mind. The waiting doesn't bother me but they still havent even cashed the check so I have no way of knowing if my packet made it or not. Sigh would just like acknowledgment they are working on it. Guess I'll keep checking the old bank daily to see.
